The students had a hard time going through this experiment as the film showed. They showed frustration at some times and really wished they had their electronics back. Honestly to me, their response were not as surprising to me because if I were in their shoes doing the same experiment I would feel the same way. I think anybody would feel the same if the solely depended on their computers to do schoolwork.
Since 2007, technology has changed significantly. It has been almost a decade and nowadays people like students use technology more than students during 2007. In my high school, we were provided free laptops and since then everything was done online including turning assignments in or even taking an exam. It was very easy and saved a lot of time for the teachers by doing so online. So it would definitely be harder to try and replicate this experiment because we rely so much on technology today. For example, almost every class goes through D2L like grades and assignments. Cellphones has changed to smart phones instead of flip phones and smart phones are pretty much a pocket computer. Overall, technology is used more today than 2007.
As a student I believe the easiest technology to give up would be my cell phone. I think giving up my cell phone will benefit me in some ways but also make it harder on me. Some ways it will benefit me is that I won't get sidetracked as much. Also school is already expensive, therefore I can save a lot of money by getting rid of my phone. However, I do use my phone for an alarm clock mainly because I do not have an alarm clock. I think a laptop would be the best aspect of technology use for a student. Just because we need to check our emails and schoolwork.
